The term ‘Camera Obscurva” refers to the early 19th century wooden box cameras that took black and white pictures. Many great archival photos are still around taken that were taken with this type of camera. Ansel Adams used this type of device to take his timeless photos of natural landscapes. This shirt was designed for my friend Mr. Cris, artist, musician, poet, spiritual advisor and rebel. This design has a feel to it reminiscent of the beatsters of the 1950’s and 1960’s in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood. Mr. Cris is living proof that the zeitgeist of the beat generation has not died. I imagine if either Jack Kerouac or William S. Burroughs were alive today they would love this shirt. This shirt may or may not be put into production. See you at the poetry slam.
